How does probeo rate page quality?

A page can be accurate, well built and still be the weakest answer to the question it targets. Probeo rates the quality of each page it analyzes, using the Page Quality framework in Google’s Search Quality Rater Guidelines, and records the evidence behind every part of the rating.

What probeo checks

  • Page quality rating: Lowest, Low, Medium, High or Highest, with steps between them (Lowest+, Low+, Medium+, High+). Medium is the baseline: a page is rated Medium unless it stands out, and ratings are not inflated.
  • Main content: effort, originality, talent or skill, and accuracy. Each is rated on five levels from very low to very high, with the evidence for it.
  • E-E-A-T: experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust, on the same levels. Experience can be not applicable. Trust outweighs the other three: an untrustworthy page rates low however strong the rest is.
  • Your Money or Your Life: whether the page touches health, money, legal or safety topics, as clear, possible or not. These pages are held to a higher standard: low accuracy, trust or expertise caps the rating at Low.
  • Title, ads and site information: whether the title represents the page accurately, whether ads or supplementary content get in the way of the main content, and whether the site says who is responsible for it.
  • Lowest-quality flags: a harmful or deceptive purpose, misleading information, an untrustworthy page, spam, or content with no effort, originality or value. Any one of these means Lowest.
  • Improvement priorities: up to five, each with its impact (high, medium or low) and a recommendation.

How probeo checks it

A language model reads the page and works through the framework in order: the page’s purpose, its main content, Your Money or Your Life, E-E-A-T, the title, ads, the lowest-quality flags, and then the rating. It reads the page’s URL, a structured model of its visible content, its readability scores, and probeo’s own reading of the page’s archetype, primary question and job.

It uses only that evidence. It is told not to invent traffic, reputation or other off-page facts, and to use descriptive levels rather than numbers. Probeo checks that the answer has the expected shape, not that each judgment is right.

What this does not cover

This is probeo’s reading using the framework the guidelines describe. It isn’t a rating from Google, and it says nothing directly about how a page ranks.

Probeo doesn’t give the reader any off-page information, so authoritativeness and reputation are judged only from what the page itself shows. Search and traffic data aren’t part of the reading either.

Common questions

Why are most of my pages Medium?

The framework treats Medium as the baseline: a page that achieves its purpose adequately, with nothing wrong and nothing special. High and Highest need clear evidence, such as high effort, originality or first-hand experience.

Is there an E-E-A-T score?

No. E-E-A-T is a qualitative framework, so probeo records a level and the evidence for each part, never a number.

Are pages written with AI rated lower?

Not for that reason. The framework judges the result, not the method: effort, originality, accuracy and value to the reader. Content produced at scale with no added value is a lowest-quality flag whatever made it.
